An internship at Ala Costa Center, which is a program that works with developmentally disabled youths from 5-22 years old, and is designed to help students develop skills in independent living, mobility, fine arts, expressive and receptive language, functional academics, social interaction, and vocational readiness. During the internship I was trained by the Program Director in behavior guidance and learned techniques to assist developmentally disabled students become independent and self reliant. Also worked with the disabled children and focused on Communication skills, and team building.
